Headache Relief

Headaches are one of the most common types of pain that people experience. In fact, headaches affect at least 80 percent of adults at some point in their lifetime. If you’re someone who gets frequent headaches, then you know how frustrating and debilitating they can be. You may also be interested to know that chiropractic care has been shown to be an effective treatment for many types of headaches, including tension headaches and migraine headaches.

Chiropractic Care for Chronic Headaches

Chiropractic care can help relieve chronic headache pain. There are several different types of headaches that can be treated with chiropractic adjustments and therapy, such as:

  • Neck pain headache
  • Muscle tension headache
  • Stress-related headaches
  • Chiropractic Care for Tension Headaches

Tension headaches are the most common type of headache and occur frequently in people with stress or anxiety. The pain is usually described as a tight band across the forehead, temples, and upper neck. It can feel like someone is squeezing your head from both sides with their hands. If a tension headache gets worse or lasts more than 72 hours without treatment, it may be considered chronic.

Tension headaches usually begin suddenly but can also come on slowly after a stressful event or series of events has occurred over time. Symptoms include:

  • Pain that feels like pressure on both sides of the head
  • Pain that starts at one temple and then spreads to cover both temples and move toward the back of your head
  • Constant dull ache that doesn’t go away even when you rest or sleep—though sleeping may temporarily relieve some symptoms

The exact cause isn’t known for sure but stress seems to play an important role in how often tension headaches occur as well as how long they last if they become chronic (lasting longer than three months). Other factors that increase your risk include: depression/anxiety disorders (including postpartum depression), poor posture/posture problems from sitting at computers all day long without taking breaks every hour or so (this puts uneven strain on muscles around shoulders), eye strain caused by reading small print for extended periods without taking breaks every hour or so (again putting uneven strain on muscles around shoulders), lack of exercise such as walking everyday throughout weekdays; obesity which causes excess weight around stomach area where nerves come out through spine causing inflammation resulting not only joint stiffness but also muscle spasms due to lack circulation; alcohol consumption which increases dehydration levels making blood vessels constrict increasing pressure within skull thus causing increased sensitivity between skull bones which results into headache upon standing up straight after prolonged sitting position; excessive intake food containing sodium chloride content because too much salt causes dehydration leading towards narrowing down capillaries within brain tissues thus reducing ability absorb oxygen properly causing pain due to hypoxia

Chiropractic Care for Migraine Headaches

Migraines are severe headaches that can last for days. They are often accompanied by nausea, vomiting and sensitivity to light and sound. Migraines can be triggered by stress, fatigue and hunger.

Migraine sufferers often have a family history of migraines.

Chiropractic Care for Sinus Headaches

As a chiropractor, I see many patients with sinus headaches. Sinus headaches are caused by pressure in the sinuses that results from inflammation of the mucous membranes in those air-filled cavities. The problem can be caused by allergies, colds or flu, and even sinus infections. Sometimes it can be caused by a deviated septum (a sideways deviation of one or more of your nasal septums).

In most cases, treating these conditions will relieve your headache. Chiropractic care can also help relieve pain associated with migraines and tension headaches

There are many ways to get help for headaches and going to a chiropractor is one of those methods.

If you’re looking for a safe and effective way to treat headaches, chiropractic care may be the best option. Adjustments can help with pain and frequency, as well as duration of headaches.

You see, many people who suffer from chronic or recurring headaches are using ineffective methods when it comes to managing their symptoms. They usually take over-the-counter medications that may make them feel better temporarily but don’t address the cause of their problem. By treating your body’s nervous system—rather than just treating symptoms—you’ll find that chiropractic adjustments can improve your overall health and well-being while reducing or eliminating those pesky headaches!

We know that there are many types of headaches and that they can be really painful. But there are also many ways to get relief and go to a chiropractor is one of them. There are many benefits of doing this because they have special training in manipulating the spine which helps with muscular problems as well as other issues such as migraines or sinus infections.
